You may remember the massive recall announced by Toyota, but a month ago, when they announced that they would be calling back over 2.7-million cars worldwide - it covers a separate issue than that which prompted them to recall the over 7-million cars just prior to this one.
The latest recall also affects some 75,000 cars from the UK, including Avensis and Corolla models, which were registered between July 2001 and March 2009, as well as some Prius models, which were registered between July 2003 and April 2009. It was issued due to a faulty component in the steering system, which if it were to fail, may result in a knocking noise and reduced response from the movement of the wheel, yet Toyota assure owners that the cars are still safe to drive, even those which are suffering from this issue.

So far, a total of nine people have reported the issue in Europe, yet none have reported accidents caused by it. Toyota will begin contacting the owners of the affected cars, and once they get their cars to a dealer, the application of the fix should not take more than one hour.
