It seems that time of the year when people remember the most vicious Nurburgring crashes of the season is here. And we're here to give you one of the first Top Ten Nurburgring Crashes 2016 compilation.
Now, those of you follow our Green Hell stories closely are probably familiar with many of the accidents here, but there are also a few of them that are new, at least to us.

Regardless, all of these crashes can serve as driving lessons and there are a few Ring hooning rules that should keep you safe while flying from Bridge to Gantry.

While it goes without saying that you should know your car, or the rental/borrowed machine you're lapping the Nordschleife in, this isn't nearly enough.

Decent knowledge of the track is required, as the mix between all the crests, inclines and the always-changing weather can bring the kind of scenarios that can only be handled by those who know the course.

And since not all Ring tourists afford to do, say, 50 laps before going into maximum attack mode, the idea is that there's a kind of speed for anybody - matching your pace with your Green Hell knowledge is the best thing to do.

Alas, some Nurburgring accidents simply can't be avoided. We're talking about those involving fluid spills or those where another driver sweeps you off your wheels.

Oh and there's also a third kind, which seems even more annoying - the accident where another driver's mistake causes you to crash due to your attempt to avoid contact with his or her car - here's a recent example of such a painful situation.

As for the current status of the infamous German track, the Nurburgring got covered in snow this week. Interestingly, when we check the Nurburgring website last week, the end of the Touristenfahrten (Tourist Days) events for this year was set for the current month, but it seems you'll also be albe to lap the Ring on the first weekend of December.
