Top Five Auto Technologies of the Future, the Customers' Version

Having begun a fast expansion into the automotive world this decade, the technologies of the future, controlled by computers, smartphones or in-car systems, are beginning not only to become a common sight on the roads of today, but also open new perspectives for the world of tomorrow.

JD Power, a company that likes to call itself the voice of the customer, released a new survey this week, one which tried to see what the most anticipated and at the same time the most useful high-tech developments to will shape the world of the future are.

According to the survey, 55 percent of the drivers can barely wait for the remote vehicle diagnostics technology to become available. In second place, only three percentage points behind, the drivers are looking forward to non-branded premium sound system, while the third place, with 50 percent, sits the wireless connectivity system.

The last two places in the top five are occupied by the rear-vision camera system (46 percent) and the blind spot detection system (45 percent).

The results we listed above come as a result of the drivers being asked to say which of 21 primary technologies they would like to have on their next car. The study surveyed 18,000 vehicles owners in the US.

Technologies that can help prevent accidents by informing consumers of potential hazards that cannot easily be seen from the driver’s seat are well received,” said Mike VanNieuwkuyk executive director of global vehicle research at J.D. Power and Associates.. “These features allow consumers to stay focused on the road and drive with confidence.”
