There are two reasons for which people refer to the Nurburgring as the “Green Hell”. It obviously all starts with all the flora in the area and then there’s the bite the German track likes to take out of those drivers who are not prepared to lap it at full speed.
Sure, it takes years of practice and thousands of laps to master the ‘Ring, but you can use the shortcut provided in the video below as a starting point. The clip, which comes from the aptly-named team from RSRNurburg, shows us five most common mistakes people make on the ‘Ring.
Many of these errors lead to the crashes you see in the videos we bring you every week and this is one area where we’d be happy to run out of events to write about. Unfortunately, the real world is more about writing off, since the corners shown here are the kind that will easily swallow your ride whole.
Aside from providing orientation on a map, the video provides guidance for each of the five corners included, as well as footage of an actual correct pass. Since the power of example is just as strong as that generated by the cars that lap the Nurburgring, we are also shown how much of a toll such a mistake can take on your vehicle.
