Toni Elias, currently 18th in the Moto2 world rankings, will leave Moto2 and will end the 2013 season with 4 races in the World Superbike series.
The news comes via a tweet from Spanish journalist Marc Martin: [Breaking news SBK]: Spanish rider @ToniElias24 quits Moto2 and will race in the 4 last rounds of WSBK. His debut: this weekend in Istanbul. "

The Blusens Avintia rider now sits in position 18 in the current world standings, with 21 points, a rather long way down from the top of the list, and definitely with no shots at the glory he enjoyed in 2010 as the first world champion of the newly-formed class.

So far there is no news as of which team will Elias ride for, but more light is expected in this matter very soon. We can only hope Toni will fare better in WSBK racing than he did so far in Moto2 and we're wishing him the bets of luck in his new career.

According to GP-Inside, he will be replaced at Blusens Avintia by Argentinian rider Leandro Mercado.
