Title Fight Not Over - Webber

With 4 weeks of break from Formula One action to come, the Hungarian Grand Prix was a great opportunity for the teams to enter the traditional F1 vacation with a boosting result. In the end, it was again Red Bull to enjoy the top step of the podium, thanks to a superb effort from Mark Webber on Sunday.

The 33-year old Aussie strategized the Hungarian Grand Prix perfectly, deciding to stay on the track while everyone else pitted early in the race. He built an immense lead up front – more than 23 seconds from 2nd placed Fernando Alonso – and when he finally made his pit visit, he rejoined the track more than 5 seconds ahead of the Ferrari racer.

It feels great to go into the summer break on the back of a win,” revealed Webber, who admitted the great strategy from his team handed him an easy win in the end.

I had to drive what was effectively a three-part race because I didn't pit for tires when the safety car came out early on, but the strategy paid off and I won the race pretty easily in the end,” added the Red Bull racer.

By winning the race at the Hungaroring, Webber did not only become the winningest racer in 2010, but also reclaimed the lead in the overall classification. Additionally, he gave Red Bull a winning celebration for their 100th grand prix in Formula One, while boosting them into first place in the manufacturers' classification.

However, although things seem pretty much ecstatic at the moment, Webber reckoned the title fight is as close as ever, with 5 drivers being placed within 20 points with 7 races to go.

The top five drivers are separated by 20 points, which is nothing. It's the equivalent of just eight points under last year's points system,” said Webber on his official site, while admitting he'll leave all the title thoughts behind and enjoy his holiday before Spa.

There's everything to play for, but not until I've turned my phone off and had a couple of weeks' holiday! I'll be in touch again before Spa,” concluded the Australian.
