Yesterday, BMW received 3 new awards for at the Kunstmuseum in Stuttgart, from German magazine Sport Auto. The M550d xDrive, BMW F30 335i and E92 335i models won various categories in an annual poll held since 1980.
The most powerful diesel engine in BMW's line up, the 3-liter tri-turbo N57S, brought the 5 Series the title of the Sportiest Diesel of 2013. It came as no surprise to us as the 6-cylinder diesel produces 381 HP and 740 Nm (550 lb-ft) of torque, being capable of sending the M550d xDrive model to 100km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds.

The second award went to BMW's F30 3 Series 335i in the "Sedans costing under €50,000 ($66,600)" category thus continuing the tradition set by its predecessor that won the sportiest sedan 3 consecutive times before the F30 was introduced.

In the "Coupes costing under €50,000 ($66,600)" category, the retiring E92 335i won first place once again, after winning the same award last year and the year before.

Since both cars are equipped with the same N55 3-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that produces 306 HP and 400 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque, it's easy to see why they won their respective categories.
