A crazy bet turned into quite the challenge for Italian stylist Maria Lucia Mugno, who decided to completely cover her Fiat 500 in human hair after a friend dared her to. Even though she managed to get in the Guinness World Record books in 2010, the 44-year old woman recently added up another 20 kg (44 lbs) of hair to make it a cut above the rest and beat her old title. The strange vehicle even comes with a hair-covered steering wheel.
Maria spent over 150 hours sewing strands of hair on to her furry Fiat to claim a new world record, after winning the precedent back in 2010. According to Yahoo News, the Italian stylist wrapped her car in human hair after a friend challenged her to do it. Sculpted into the shape of butterfly wings, Maria and her art assistant, Valentino Stassano, now hope that the additional hair will serve as a symbol of freedom and peace in the world.

Call it crazy, but this car reminds us of the Mutt Cutts van from Jim Carrey’s Dumb and Dumber series. It’s obviously not the same deal considering we’re dealing with a Fiat 500 and that the hair is real human hair, but that doesn’t mean it’s not quite funny. Funny and creepy, might we add.

The “material” used for the strange wrap was brought from India, as it is much stronger than that of its European counterpart, Maria claims. This also made the car a lot more expensive, as it’s worth is now estimated at EUR 80,000 ($101,000). The only thing left unanswered is what type of shampoo Maria is using to wash the car.

Come to think of it, this story is mildly amusing and that's because Maria seems to have chosen the wrong car. At least according to the urban myths, hairdressers drive Fiestas. In case they're the sporty type, they choose Miatas or Audi TTs. Oh well, guess the woman wanted to also abust the myths or at least update them...
