What’s the best part of farming? For us gearheads is when you get to drive all those heavy farming machines, of course. There should be “farm days” open for passionates, just like track days for race guys if you ask us.
Can’t tell how many of you have been in a crawler tractor, but the sheer torque those machines boast is utterly impressive. They’ll pull a heavy plough through dense soil like they barely have something attached to them. It’s pretty exciting to have all that power at the tip of your fingers.

Still, until farm days will become a reality (if someone gets that done I want a share of the profit for coming up with the idea, thank you) you can taste a bit of that world in the form of radio controlled fully functional scale models, like this little Claas Challenger 55 and its trailer.

The RC tractor was filmed recently at a fair in Zwwolle, Netherlands, and it could be a perfect gift for your little gearhead, or even yourself... we don’t judge, we’d like one here in the office to haul water bottles or chips.

In the real world, this machine weighs 26,000 lb (11,793 kg) and is powered by a 7.2-liter 6-cylinder Caterpillar diesel engine making 225 hp and about 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque. Price for one of these usually goes over $100,000 (€80,500).
