Camper vans are tremendously popular among outdoor enthusiasts due to their ability to take you to incredible places, their convenience, and the open-road freedom they afford. They are seen as the ultimate machines for epic adventures, so it's no wonder that an overwhelming amount of new and pre-loved van conversions pop up on online marketplaces.
While most of them are prosaic, unpretentious builds with bland looks and ordinary functionality, once in a while, we stumble upon unique creations with remarkable aesthetics that stand out from the crowd. This is the case with this 2015 Ram Promaster 3500 High Roof Extended van that was turned into a luxury hotel room on wheels with a royal classic design.

Most van lifers who decide to buy a van and convert it themselves into a cozy living space go for modern or contemporary themes, but the owner of this stunning campervan chose a different approach, decorating the interior with intricate moldings, precious gold details, hand-carved furniture, and refined accessories for a classy, sophisticated look.

Crafted with love and great attention to detail, this camper van is certainly not your run-of-the-mill build, and once you slide open the side door, it feels like entering a room in an elegant royal villa. And besides its eye-pleasing aesthetics, it also ensures an enjoyable camping experience with modern creature comforts like a full-size shower, diesel-powered heater, air conditioning, and more.

Before we delve deeper into the stylish interior design, let’s take a look at its exterior. As with most stealth campers, this van’s exterior is the least exciting part. It's a typical plain white Promaster, and the only indication that this is a tiny home on wheels is the solar panels on the roof.

Actually, the solar package is one of the highlights of this build and would be quite hard to miss, as there are no less than 12 panels up there. That means the van benefits from a whopping 1200 Watts of solar power for prolonged off-grid adventures. Campers typically choose panels between 100 and 300 Watts for their van conversions because of width restraints on their roof, but this owner built a custom roof rack using extruded aluminum to accommodate them all. The van is also equipped with a 680 Ah lithium battery bank, and a wind fairing helps reduce drag.

As for the interior layout, it also differs from your typical camper van. The owner wanted a more open floor space, so there are no defined individual areas except for the bathroom. The rest of the van is a wide open space that will be used for lounging, cooking, dining, working, and sleeping. Cabinetry, furniture, and appliances have been kept to a minimum, which might translate into less functionality compared to other vans out there, but it makes up for it with an exceptionally classy design.

Offering a good balance of elegance and comfort, the interior is dominated by a royal color palette that combines white, rich browns, tans, and an abundance of golden accents. The all-white plywood walls are beautifully adorned with ultra-light polyurethane moldings, delicate white drapes separate the living area from the van’s cabin, and gold details add contrast and give the space an elegant finish. All these elements combined create a timeless look that reminisces of classic European homes of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Offering accommodation for two people, the camper is fitted with a full-width bed platform at the rear with a classic ornate headboard and integrated storage. Since the bed is the largest thing in this mobile home, it naturally becomes the focal point, so accessorizing it with colorful pillows and throws is essential. Everything in this area of the van seems symmetric, as the bed is flanked by two narrow cabinets with linear actuators and picture frame moldings on either side.

Opposite the bed, there is a gorgeous vanity with real marble countertop, gold tap, and quiet-close doors. You’ll also notice three additional taps with undercounter pumps for soap, moisturizer, and whatnot, plus a beautiful gold-framed mirror on the wall.

There is no actual kitchen inside this van, but it is equipped with some modern appliances to facilitate cooking, like an induction stovetop and a 12V fridge with freezer. For dining and lounging, an easy fold-up chair and table set are included.

The bathroom, located right behind the driver’s seat, comprises a full-size standup shower with ceramic tiles, custom glass mosaic ceiling and porcelain floor tiles, and a cassette toilet. The only thing that seems to be missing is a bathroom door, but I suppose a curtain lined with beautiful hardware would work great in this compact space.

As for the storage solutions, the owner included way fewer cabinets compared to other builds to keep the interior open and spacious, but there is still a large drawer under the bed, the vanity, two bedside cabinets, and a storage compartment over the cabin.

With the massive solar array on the roof, a diesel power heater, 20 gallons of fresh water, and 23 gallons of gray water, this van is ready for off-grid journeys.

On another note, making the interior extra quiet seems to have been a main concern for the builder, considering that besides the quiet cabinet doors, they equipped the van with a bespoke quiet pump, insulated window covers, and roof bent covers for a truly peaceful van life experience.

Due to its unconventional design and sophisticated interior, this Promaster-based van conversion might not be everyone’s cup of tea for outdoor adventures. However, you can still leave it parked on the driveway and use it as a classy spare bedroom. If it piqued your interest, it is available for sale for $45,000.
