One of the most significant collections of classic BMWs in the world belongs to a man so modest that he didn’t want to show his face when the company did a special on him. What’s even more interesting about him is how he came up in the world, going from homeless to one of the biggest collectors of classic Bimmers.
His garage is now populated with 55 cars, 45 of them being good to drive and in perfect shape and ten of them being used for spare parts. The collection includes only older models, from the early 1960s to the late 1980s, including a BMW E30 M3 that started the whole story.

According to our anonymous host, his passion for Bavarian cars started when he was young and saw the iconic E30 M3 blow past him on the highway. It was a trigger that set him off on his quest to own and drive any BMW he wanted.

Several years later, here we are admiring his collection that is comprised of cars like various Alpinas, stock 5 Series, an E12 M6 (it was marketed as an M6 in the US unlike Europe where it was sold as an M635i) and an ultra rare BMW 700 RS.

This last model is a true unicorn as only two were ever hand-made and he has the first one in his garage. The car has a tubular frame chassis which was an innovation for that time and a double-overhead camshaft engine making 70 HP. Even the legendary Hans Stuck drove it in various races, being rather successful in it as well.
