We've shown you all kinds of unfortunate famous car replicas lately, including the weird Suzuki-based Bugatti Veyron or the utterly ugly Gallardo. Well, none of them were quite insulting, but we finally found one.
Actually we didn't exactly find it, Jalopnik did, but we knew we couldn't live with ourselves not saying something about it. To get things straight, it's a Pontiac Fiero (yeah, we know, it's that "sportscar" again) with a so-called Ford GT40 body. Why is it insulting? Because the GT40 is a legend and a fierce Ford-Ferrari battle winner.
It's a four consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans champion vehicle, it's highly collectable, it's basically one of the best race cars ever built. It's very expensive to say the least and even hard to find if you have the money, but why would someone choose mutilate it like that?
And a heads up for the seller, who, by the way, wants $6,800 for it, a V6 engine is a huge turn off even for a malformed GT40 replica! Seems like there a lot of crazy people with hammers roaming free lately, sheesh…
