This Is the First Mercedes CLK GTR Super Sport

Want a machine with a 6.9-liter V12, superb racing pedigree and 612 horsepower? Back when men where men and parking sensors weren’t available, there was the CLK GTR.
This is a limited edition racing car for the road. It’s as sonorous as a construction sight, comes with a racing clutch and gearbox and lets you find the Michael Schumacher in you.

Only 25 were built and sold and Brian Zuk recored this one at the 2012 RM Monterey Auction where it sold for $1,100,000. As far as we can figure out, that’s cheaper than when it was new, which is amazing for car #1/25.

One of the biggest differences over the racing car was the rear wing, which was integrated rather than a bolt-on

In 1999, this was the Bugatti Veyron, the most expensive productio car built at $1,546,620 in the US. That’s a Guinness Book record don’t you know!

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
