If you ever get the change to sit behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Diablo, there's one thing you need to know about the V12 Bull - reversing the supercar will be one hell of an experience. Since you can't really see what goes on behind the machine and not too many people agree with installing a rear-view camera on such a piece of Sant'Agata Bolognese history, what can you do about it?
Well, one potential asnwer comes from the Diablo owner in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page. The man delivers a brief lesson of how to reverse the twelve-cylinder monster. Notice that he's maneuvering the Diablo in an area packed with Lambos and other supercars, so his mission wasn't exactly easy.
Come to think of it, it's a bit ironical that, up to the current generation of Lamborghini, Raging Bull were infamously difficult to drive. After all, the company was born after Ferruccio Lamborghini had a disagreement with Enzo Ferrari on how the clutch on one of the former's two Prancing Horses should be fixed.
Forntunately, the Lambos you can currently find in a showroom have changed all that. Sure, the Aventador, with its challenging visibility and its single-clutch transmission, is still uber-demanding when it comes to driving in tight areas, but the drivability gap between this and the Murcielago that came before it is a massive one.
As for the Huracan, this is the first model in the history of the Italian automotive producer that can be driven on a daily basis. Thanks to the mix between a light feel and a dual-clutch tranny, the V10 beast can prove to be extremely docile inside the city.
The only drawback of the Huracan has to do with the slight understeer it packs and, to sort thig matter out you'll have to go for the Performante version, which offers a neutral behavior through the bends.
Sure, there are also rear-wheel-drive incarnations of the Huracan, but the handling they deliver isn't quite as enticing as what you get from McLaren or Ferrari.
Then again, Lamborghini remains the only major name on the supercar scene that's entirely committed to natural aspiration and we have to applaud the Italians for this.
