Have you ever noticed just how rare one comes across a Porsche 911 doing a burnout? A part of the current 911 models may come with protection, so we can’t blame them. The previous ones didn’t and yet, like we said, it is incredibly difficult to find one that is melting its rear tires.
Well, the adjacent image shows just that. We admit we had been waiting to see a 911 in this state for quite a while and now that we found this we had to share it with you. Perhaps it all comes from the idea that the 911 was created for the exact opposite of a burnout, that perfect Porsche balance.
This is a 964-generation 911, so that flat six delivering the power is an air-cooled unit. Alas, the thing does not seem to come with a limited slip differential, so there’s only one wheel taking care of the tire-shredding job.
This 911, which is dressed in Mint Green, performed the burnout at the Worthersee 2013 - this is a festival dedicated to all things connected to the VW Group, the kind of show that can turn one into a VAG fan, so it was only natural to see a Porsche shining on the Austrian scene.
Of course, we wish the 911 would’ve pulled out a proper burnout, but, for now, we’ll just have to make due with this appetizer. Fell free to send us your own 911 burnouts.
