This Audi Pickup Truck Concept Is a Work of Digital Art Rather Than a Real Workhorse

After years of everyone feeling like Audi crawled into a corner to watch the clash of BMW and Mercedes-Benz titans, the Ingolstadt-based automaker is finally attacking the automotive market with all its might once again. However, it's not all roses and daffodils.
It's clear that BMW felt like the automotive design needed a shot in the arm, a kick in the proverbial buttocks, and a jolt – probably all simultaneously. As such, we have been met with quirky or controversial designs like the M2, X2, M3, M4, iX, XM Label Red, 7 Series, and i7, or the fresh Vision Neue Klasse X. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz remained traditional at its core with models that blend into each other seamlessly – but can often get confused one for the other.

As for Audi, it felt like a monster lying dormant. Well, finally, it has awakened and will seek a new styling direction under the guidance of Land Rover's former design boss. Until then, we are getting the refreshed A3 and S3, the first-ever 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron, plus the new A5, Q5, and A6 e-tron in quick sequence. They are also giving up – at long last – the confusing naming scheme, which didn't help anyone understand what the heck was a 55 TFSI or a 40 TDI.

Good riddance, it's all we have to say. But it's not all roses and daffodils because, for example, the A3 is amess with in-car subscriptions, and the Q6 e-tron plus SQ6 e-tron will have to move mountains to make itself known in the space of all-electric compact luxury crossover SUVs. Oh, and the confusion about the naming scheme doesn't necessarily go away because all ICE-powered Audi models will soon migrate to uneven numbers while the even ones are reserved for e-trons.

It is far from us to ask why they need to do that when they can simply signal that a model is all-electric with the e-tron designation, but of course, some Audi strategists need to earn a living, too, even if they come up with such dubious decisions, right? Ironies aside, it seems that someone from across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has found a way to simplify everything and make Audi enticing for a whole new breed of customers.

More precisely, this virtual artist, better known as SRK Designs on social media, has decided to trust his CGI instinct and come up with a dreamy Audi pickup. It's not called A, S, Q, 55, 40, TFSI, TDI, or anything else. Instead, the pixel master simply dubbed it as the Audi Pickup Truck Concept, and with that, he said everything anyone needs to know. Since it's an unofficial "digital art rendering," it is pretty hard to make out the dimensions, but most likely, this – if ever real – would play around the mid- or even the full-size class if it wants to succeed in America, too. Cool or not?
