Don’t worry, no one tried to make a Toyota run on methamphetamine, but short doses of water and methanol injected into its supercharged engine made it run much better.
FourWheeler Network recently posted a story on how they made a 1998 Toyota 4Runner to work better by injecting water and methanol into its engine to run smoothly after they fitted it with a TRD supercharger.

Their biggest problem after installing the forced induction mechanism was making the engine running right with the added boost. Detonations were manifesting after punching the throttle from low rpm.

The solution? A DevilsOwn Methanol Injection Stage 1 kit using a simple on-off pressure switch to activate the pump. Now, this doesn't make the 4Runner the car version of Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad, but it's enough to give you some pretty serious thrills, especially if you're into off-roading and what not.

And now, for the compulsory history lesson on the Toyota 4Runner. We're dealing with a mid-size SUV produced by Toyota since 1984 and sold throughout the world under different names. For example, in Japan, the SUV is known as the Toyota Hilux Surf, but some models were sent to countries like Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the UK and Australia.

As far as the current-generation 4Runner is concerned, we can tell you that the SUV comes with an electric adjustable driver seat, tilt/telescopic steering wheel with shortcut buttons, TRD shifter and floor mats. Under the hood lies a 4-liter V6 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, putting out 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque.

In other words, everything you need to boost your confidence about going out in the wild and see what Mother Earth had in store for you, in terms of mud, rivers, rocky areas, snow and hills. We know you want the bigger picture on this car, so pleae check out the full story here.
