We don’t know if your horse would like to receive LED taillighs tail lights or not, but the people we’re writing about here say it should. A quick look at these lights may lead you to believe we’re experiencing some sort of aftermarket show-off accessories, but their creator, equestrian Sami Gros, says it’s all a safety feature.
The story started when her horse and a companion were hit by a car. The accessories, which allow the animals to be seen at night, are made of six strips of LEDs encased in silicone. These can be fastened to the animal’s tail using a neoprene wrap.
Power comes from a lithium-ion battery the size of a Marlboro Man cigarette pack, which offers up to fifteen hours of autonomy.
The project has a pretty solid engineering case built for it and is currently gathering funds via Kickstarter.
