Bentley’s CEO, Adrian Hallmark, has suddenly decided to step down. He has been in that position since February 2018. Hallmark requested to be allowed to depart Bentley Motors with immediate effect.
Adrian Hallmark led Bentley Motors as a CEO for the past six years. During his time with the automaker, several new luxury models saw the light of day. He also targeted turning Bentley into the most sustainable brand of luxury vehicles by 2030, also ditching the W12 engine along the way.

Now, someone else will have to take over where he left off. The Crewe-based carmaker will announce his successor in due course.

Hallmark has been in the automotive world since 1999 as a board member for sales and marketing until 2005. However, his experience as an executive counts as many as 25 years, during which he worked for international automotive companies in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Asia.

In the quarter of a century that he has spent working in the field, the 61-year old has positions at Porsche and Volkswagen alongside the one at Bentley that he is now leaving behind.

The former Bentley CEO says that the time has come for him to take on new challenges and thanks his team for all that they have achieved together.

During his stint at Bentley, sales figures almost doubled from 2018 to 2022, going from 9,559 to 15,174 units sold. However, the sales curve declined in 2023 when the company sold 13,560 cars worldwide.

Minutes after the news about Hallmark's decision was out, another automaker announced that he is now on their team. It will be Aston Martin this time, where he will take on the role of Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer.

However, he still has time before he has to go to his new office in Gaydon, the United Kingdom, as the successor of Amedeo Felisa. Aston Martin claims that he has to commence his position no later than October 1, 2024. Fells will remain as CEO until Hallmark is available to start. Afterward, he will continue to supervise the introduction of new products of the brand.

Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin, has thanked Felisa for his stint with the brand and labels Adrian Hallmark as “one of the highest caliber leaders not just in our segment, but in the entire global automotive industry.” How much of his experience will be transferred to the Formula 1 team as well remains to be seen.

In a press release, Aston Martin also refers to the salary that Hallmark will get as a CEO of Aston Martin without, though, indicating the exact figure. “Remuneration and benefits will be consistent with Aston Martin's Remuneration Policy as approved by shareholders at the AGM in May 2022,” the press release shows.
