While Google Maps and Apple Maps are often considered the top alternatives to Waze, neither has an advanced incident reporting system to match the one integrated into Google's traffic navigation app (unless you've been living under a rock for the past decade, you should already know that Google owns Waze).
Apple has already started expanding into Waze's territory with incident reporting capabilities, but the feature is yet to gain traction, allowing users to send only three types of reports.

Enter Flitsmeister.

If you've never heard of it, Flitsmeister is currently the most advanced true Waze alternative. It packs a traffic reporting system similar to the one bundled with Waze and comes with features that make every trip more predictable.

And starting with the latest update, Flitsmeister also offers gas price information.

The parent company explains that fuel prices have gone wild once again, so it's critical for users to always find the cheapest fuel in their proximity. The information presented to users in the application is updated every hour, so in theory, you should always see accurate price data for every gas station on the map.

Flitsmeister says the developing team also tried to make gas station listings more useful, so in addition to pricing information, users will also see full details on the available services per each station. For example, you can expand a gas station listing to see if it also includes a car wash or search for specific types of fuel close to your location.

Unfortunately, the gas price update also comes with a dark side. It's only available for Flitsmeister Pro users, so you can't try out the new feature unless you're paying for a subscription. If you're not sure that Flitsmeister Pro fits you, a 7-day trial allows you to take the app for a spin and device if it's worth the money.

Waze also offers gas price information provided by users running the app on their mobile devices. The application automatically prompts the user to update the price data whenever it detects a gas station stop, helping the community get up-to-date information for nearby locations. During my time with Waze, I found the fuel prices very accurate, especially because my hometown's Waze user base is gigantic.

Flitsmeister's 2020 statistics indicated the app had 1.7 million active users three years ago, so the numbers are presumably higher, especially as the need for traffic navigation apps has increased significantly lately. The latest Waze adoption figures surfaced last year when it was estimated that 151 million users relied on the app every month to find a faster route to their destination. Both apps are available on iPhone and Android and offer a dedicated experience for vehicles equipped with CarPlay.
