The new lower front panel is the first upgrade you notice when looking at the new 107, with new side vents, a reshaped grille and a decorative two-part insert. The rear side of the car still includes the dark glass tailgate/rear windscreen but now also provides a “wraparound” rear bumper and black capping, according to the same press release.
“If like most vehicles in this category, it is purchased as a second or third car in the family, the 107 stands out from the competition particularly by the prevalence of owners who are females in its customer base (69%, a quarter of them under the age of 35), a higher proportion of single people living with their parents and a lower proportion of retired people,” Peugeot said.
The new 107 also brings enhanced safety, with 4 EuroNCAP stars in the adult protection test and 3 stars in the child protection test. Safety feature highlights include ABS, front and side airbags and front seats with integral head restraints.
And because the engines upgrade seems to be the most important upgrade of the new 107 range, you should probably know that Peugeot brought three engine configurations, a 1.0-liter manual gearbox and a 1.0-liter 2-Tronic gasoline plus a 1.4 HDI manual transmission. According to figures provided by Peugeot, the new 107 has an average fuel consumption of 5.5 and 5.3 liters per 100 km in city mode for gasoline and diesel engines respectively.
