Strapping a big V*insert number here* engine to a motorcycle is no big news as it started over a decade ago with the Dodge Tomahawk. Yeah, it’s cool, compensates for some of the owner’s issues, but it’s not practical at all. However, the Midalu 2500 V6 here manages to combine both a large engine and maneuverability in a rather small package.
Among the well-established bike makers at this year’s INTERMOT show was this interesting creation coming from the Czech luxury motorcycle maker Midalu. The roots of the company trace back to the early 70s, when it was making 125 and 250 cc motorcycles under the PERTI name. In the 90s, the tradition has been continued under the FGR badge (mostly racing bikes) and now the company made a huge leap over to big-displacement engines.

No, the new Midalu motorcycle isn’t aligned with the liter class cult. It has gone double than that and then some. As the name suggests, the bike has a 2.5-liter V6 engine that develops 240 hp and 160 Nm of twist.

The massive powerplant hangs under a thick trellis frame, the rear has a solid machined swingarm while the carbon fiber makes for most of the bodywork. The bike tips the scales at 262 kg (577 lb) dry.

Such weight needs some serious performance handling parts, so the monster is fitted with a fully adjustable Ohlins USD fork along with a fully adjustable central Ohlins shock at the back. Braking is done via four-piston Brembo Racing calipers.

The Midalu 2500 V6 prototype was designed by Stanislav Hanus and was first presented five years ago, with only six bikes planned to be built originally. The production model was unveiled this year at INTERMOT in Cologne, and it’s not clear how many will be built.

No price is given, but whatever the case, the manufacturer says that each of the Midalu V6 bikes will be made after the client places an order and will be mostly hand built, so expect it to be rare and really expensive.
