Those of you who have lived in a studio apartment know that less than 400 square feet of space can often be enough to house everything you need for a comfortable, happy life. With careful planning and the right design solutions to maximize space, a tiny house won't look like a small space at all.
Take a look at the Lodge, a single-level tiny home on wheels that looks like a rustic-chic studio apartment. Though compact, this dwelling is a remarkable option for those seeking a cozy and functional living space. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, it offers a serene and open atmosphere thanks to the abundance of natural light, as well as coziness and familiarity thanks to its burned wood interior and an integrated fireplace. It's a space that can instantly bring you peace and comfort.

The Lodge was designed and built by Nomad Tiny Homes, a family-owned company based in Austin, Texas, that has been in the tiny house business since 2016. The team specializes in creating customized small living spaces that reflect their owners' personalities and lifestyles. This 32-foot (9.8-meter) long model is also part of their custom selection builds and is a testament to the expert team's excellent craftsmanship.

Oftentimes, single-level tiny houses with no division between spaces can feel like one large room full of furniture, but this is not the case with the Lodge. Though it features an open-plan layout that comprises the living room, the bathroom, and the kitchen, with the bathroom being the only separate space, the Lodge looks and feels like a proper home with different rooms.

This elegant home on wheels follows the principles of minimalism, with every item having its own purpose and practical use. Somehow, it basks in simplicity while also exuding sophistication and offering everything one needs for everyday living. With a combination of burned wood ceilings, white walls, and dark hardwood floors, the interior offers a blend of rustic charm and modern innovation.

Stepping inside the Lodge will transport you to a place of calmness in the middle of nature. Due to the contemporary open-plan layout, minimalist design, and oversized windows throughout, you will feel one with your surroundings, making it ideal for vacation getaways. However, its sturdy construction and modern amenities make it suitable for full-time living as well.

The first area you see when you enter through the full-light door is the kitchen. Equipped with black cabinetry and stainless steel appliances, it has an almost industrial look. The apron sink and subway tile backsplash add modern farmhouse elements, and a large window keeps the space luminous and well-ventilated. Functionality is ensured by modern appliances ranging from a two-burner cooktop and an oven to a full-size fridge and dishwasher.

A versatile dining nook has been created opposite the kitchen. It includes a simple breakfast bar that can fold down and get out of the way for more wiggle room when needed. It is wider than typical breakfast bars and can easily double as a home office. Since it's placed in front of a large window, there is enough natural light for office work.

The adjacent living room gives off modern cabin vibes with a burned wood accent wall that matches the ceilings and a black leather sofa. Black might not be everyone's cup of tea when it comes to interior design, as it might seem cold and gothic, but it can be softened with the right lighting and complementary furnishings. In this living room, the black sofa creates an elegant, sophisticated ambiance that blends drama with warmth.

An electric fireplace enhances the appeal of the lounge and creates a cozy atmosphere, while a large TV mounted on the wall turns it into the perfect entertaining area.

While most people prefer to keep their bedroom out of sight and private, the Lodge offers a seamless flow between the common lounge area and the sleeping corner. The designers did create a sense of separation by using different materials and colors in the bedroom area, as well as a black fabric curtain. As such, owners can keep a direct line of sight across the house during the day and create the much-needed feeling of privacy during the night by pulling the curtain.

There is enough space for a queen-size bed and a couple of nightstands. A light gray board and batten accent wall at the end of the house can serve as a bed headboard, while two large windows let in plenty of sunlight and help residents connect with the surroundings.

The bathroom at the opposite end of the house is functional and quite spacious, with enough room to include a stacking washer/dryer combo and a large storage closet beside the usual toilet, shower, and vanity. The closet has mirrored doors that create the sensation of even more space. A black-and-white color palette evokes a modern feel and helps achieve a clean, pristine look.

The Lodge tiny house is built on a triple-axle trailer and boasts all-timber exterior cladding, which enhances the modern cabin look. With its open interior layout and beautiful finishes, this model would make a great vacation rental in a remote location in the middle of nature.
