They say that Mondays are the hardest and that's probably true, but we think Tuesdays are just as bad, since this is where the weekly grind really starts. After all, by the second day, you're pretty sure it's going to be one of those long, hot summer weeks. So, for all you lazy folks who don't feel like working today, we have a special treat.
Say hello to the Grave Digger. It's a scale monster truck built by somebody with more passion than most people we know. Done in one quarter scale, it's about 4 feet long (1.2 meters) and weighs 90 lbs (40 kg), about as much as a small scooter.
The coolest part of the whole built is the Stinger 609 engine, built by a company called Conley Precision. It's got carbonation, eight exhaust pipes, spark plugs and even a timing belt that drives the oil pump and… the supercharger. Yes, that's right, you can have a supercharger on an V8 that fits in your hand. Its name is derived from the fact that the engine displaces 6.09 cub inches, which is almost 100cc.
We did a quick check and found the 609 engine alone retails from $8,257.75 if it's naturally aspirated, in which case you can expect 5.5 hp at 9,500rpm. As for the blower version, let's just say you could buy a real car for the money.
