Trying to buy a barely driven 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 without paying top dollar in the state of Texas is easier said than done. You’d need to be John Dutton or something, just in case the seller is willing to let themselves get charmed. Actually, you might want to let Beth Dutton do the negotiating for you. That way you might even get the car for free.
Before you say anything, I know the action in Yellowstone takes place in Montana (although there are some Texas scenes), but I can’t think of a better TV cowboy reference right now.

Anyhoo, what we have here is yet another Demon 170, which up until recently was for sale at auction courtesy of a Texas-based dealer. Of course, the car didn’t sell, because its reserve wasn’t met – the highest bid went all the way to $160,000. Originally, this retailed for $124,441, so basically $35k over MSRP wasn’t good enough for whoever oversaw this listing.

This Demon 170 is pretty much identical to two other examples we showed you in the past two months (same Go Mango exterior and all). One of those had even fewer miles on the clock (8 miles versus 26 here), whereas the other had already covered 262 miles.

The one with delivery miles also didn’t sell, its owner (another dealership) refusing $162,000. To be fair, the market was just starting to correct itself back then (March 2024). Fastforward to last week, and that 262-mile Demon 170 exchanged hands for $156,500, which to me seems more than fair. As does $160k for this 26-mile one. I mean, at this point, what are you even waiting for?

In terms of specs, this Challenger is playing all the hits, starting with the Air-Grabber hood, satin black roof and decklid graphics, Air-Catcher HID headlights, SRT Performance rear spoiler with integrated rearview camera, plus the black 18” and 17” (front & rear) forged alloy wheels with Mickey Thompson rubber and black Brembo calipers.

Meanwhile, interior highlights include the black Alcantara and Laguna leather seats (heated and ventilated), Demonic Red seat belts, carbon fiber trim (dashboard, center console), an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control, while the optional Premium Group adds the suede headliner, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with a trunk-mounted subwoofer.

There’s also a plaque below the passenger air vent that identifies this Demon 170 as #1,846.

As for what’s underneath the hood, that’ll be the 6.2-liter high-output Hemi V8 with its 3.0-liter supercharger and revised fueling system components. Its output ranges from 900 horsepower and 810 lb-ft of torque on E10 fuel, to 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque on E85. Everything gets sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
