Tesla does not exactly advertise the company's products, be it cars or related merchandise. Only Elon Musk posts on his own social network to brag about them every once in a while. But this video right here would make a great commercial for the Model Y. The crossover was caught on film pulling a semi stuck in the snow.
There is no information on where this took place. But a look at the scenery with the streets covered in snow confirms that it surely isn’t in sunny California. The white Model Y pulls a Renault truck up the road in a city taken over by winter.

The crossover does slip a bit – a bit more, actually, – but eventually, the semi starts moving along the slightly inclined road as people watch in awe. Watching a massive truck being towed up the street by a passenger car isn't something that they get to see every day.

The towing capacity of the Model Y is of 3,500 pounds. So there is no chance it could actually pull a semi unless the semi… pulls itself. However, it might not be what it seems to be. The semi must have only needed a little pull to get grip again. Then it looks like it drives on its own power as the wheels of the four-axle truck spin and gain traction back. Furthermore, it looks like the Tesla doesn’t get much grip on snow either, with the tail snapping loose every few feet.

The video was uploaded on the former Twitter/current X. Those who watched the 17-second film are skeptical about the ability of a Tesla Model Y to pull the giant in the snow or on any surface for that matter.

This is not the first time a Tesla has pulled such a stunt. Back in February 2018, an owner of a Model X residing in Norway uploaded a video on YouTube to show how his electric crossover pulled a Volvo truck out of snow. The Model X has an impressive towing capacity of 5,000 pounds (2,267 kilograms). But even so, there is no way it could normally tow a 95,000-pound (43,000-kilogram) Volvo truck.

The figures are still below those of the new Tesla Cybertruck, which can tow up to 11,000 pounds (4,989 kilograms) when set in motion by a tri-motor powertrain. But sometimes, it turns out that the Cybertruck needs to be towed out of a predicament.

An RC prototype somehow slid off the trail covered in snow and mud at Coral Hallow OHV, with no chance whatsoever of climbing back. A Ford F-350 Super Duty came to rescue. But the Cybertruck featured zero recovery points. So, they had to hook the towing cable to the suspension to bring it back up. With the Christmas tree in the load bed included.
