Teixeira to Sue Campos Grand Prix?

Spanish billionaire Jose Ramon Carabante may have purchased the majority stake in the Campos Meta racing team last week, but things seem to have complicated over the weekend. According to a report coming from Brazilian publication Globo, it seems someone by the name of Tony Teixeira – you might know him for his ownership of A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport – may challenge the takeover in court.

As some of you might remember from some of our previous reports over Campos Grand Prix, the South African businessman was negotiating the partial purchase of the Spanish team with former boss Adrian Campos. Although the Spanish media later suggested the negotiations never materialized, Teixeira now claims he had agreed with Campos on the sale.

Teixeira reportedly claims he signed a contract with Adrian Campos and presented all the necessary bank guarantees to back up the deal,” said a report from the GMM news agency, citing Globo.

Under these circumstances, Teixeira's lawyers are reportedly looking into the prospect of suing the Spanish team. However, no decisions have been made until this point.

During the month of January, long before the Jose Ramon Carabante deal even surfaced in the media, Teixeira insisted that he wants to purchase a part of Campos Grand Prix in order to finalize his plans of making the A1 GP a feeder series of F1. To be more precise, he wanted the young champion-like drivers of his series to be promoted as test or even race drivers at Campos GP in Formula One.
