Teenage Barefoot Bandit Caught

A criminal with a huge taste for horsepower and quite some skills... That's how you might describe 19-year-old Colton Harris-Moore, known as the barefoot bandit, the man which several police agencies chased for the past two years.

It's not entirely clear when or how Harris-Moore's criminal career began, but he is currently to be held accountable for breaking into dozens of homes and committing burglaries across Washington, as well as in British Columbia and Idaho.

But the really interesting part is that he tried to evade the law by stealing just about anything self propelled, from the good old car to airplanes. To date, police suspects he has stolen at least five planes. Including the one which he stole and flew to the Bahamas this weekend.

It was there were the police have found him, a week after Harris-Moore stole the plane from Indiana and flew some 1,000 miles, with no flight training to his name. But the arrest was not that easy.

Having been alerted by a witness of his presence, police engaged in a high-speed boat chase, trying to stop the young criminal from escaping again. According to Ellison Greenslade, Bahamas Police Commissioner, shots were fired during the chase.

The barefoot bandit (nicknamed like this because he has the habit of taking off his shows before committing a crime), is currently facing charges in both the Bahamas and the US. His story would have probably passed unnoticed hadn't it been a bit similar to that of DiCaprio's Frank Abagnale Jr.

Harris-Moore liked to taunt police by leaving chalk footprints and even pictures of himself behind at a crime scene.
