The guys at Tecnocraft literally make a living out of playing with carbon fiber. The US aftermarket developer recently introduced its latest product, the T2 line of seats (we must thank luxury4play for the images).

We are dealing with dry carbon seats, which are spine formed to the back side of a standard torso, in order to offer a comfortable position. These are built of carbon fiber and Kevlar using aerospace grade stiffeners, reinforces and epoxy resins, in order to offer both strength and lightness.

In addition to that, Tecnocraft uses a liquid crystal polymer called Vectran that further increases strength.

The company offers two sizes: the T2, which is destined for the average body size and the T2XL, for the larger-bodied individuals. The first tips the scales at 6.5 lbs (3 kg), while the latter weighs 7 lbs (3.2 kg).

Here’s how Tecnocraft describes the seats: “Carrying on a tradition of exceeding ALL expectations, Tecnocraft is proud to finally release our latest creation… a creation that embodies all the heart and spirit of the creative team here at Tecnocraft. This latest creation is the T2 line of Dry Carbon Seats.

There were no shortcuts made to get where we are today. Designing of this seat was out of necessity because the marketplace started to demand a more comfortable seat. Compared to the Tecnocraft T1, we shortened the lower thigh supports to allow a more comfortable entry/exit and added more support to the upper torso because it was needed.
