Canada Moto Guide have delved a bit deeper in the story of the new generation of Indian motorcycles and offers some neat details on the bikes to come.
One of the rumored features is called Idle No More, and will shut down the bike when shifted into neutral. While similar technology has proven to save fuel in cars, implementing it in bike building might come with some risks. Nobody wants a dead engine: if the system triggers the INM shutdown too fast as the lever passes between 1st and 2nd gear, things can get ugly. Hopefully they know what they're doing...
CMG also adds the Affirmative Action,a technology to offer faster shifting, probably to countermeasure the problems described above. At the same time, it should make up for the time needed to power the bike from a (dead) stop.
Tire repair kits are supposed to be standard for the new Indians, and the bikes are touted to be covered by the Treaty lifetime warranty... which we don't buy, at least not until we see the papers. CGM also reports that the Milwaukee guys (yes, the H-D ones) were not too happy with all this news...
