We're used to seeing some extremely powerful cars coming out of the Ohio-based tuner Switzer. Most of them are GT-Rs and Porsches but this time we get to look at a 4-door sedan.
After witnessing the Manhart MH5 Bi-turbo, self-proclaimed 'the world's fastest F10 M5', Switzer is bringing out the big guns. Their creation might not be as powerful as the MH5 but the 10 HP difference is nothing when you look at the power outputs of these beasts.
The Switzer P700 has (who would've guessed) 700 HP and 640 lb-ft (868 Nm) of torque and that's more than the Manhart 710 HP version. Excepting the engine upgrades, the modified 5er also has a custom stainless steel exhaust system and, starting with 2014, they will also be offering a carbon-nano set of brake pads and Signature alloys.
“If I buy a twin-turbo V8, I want to hear the twin-turbo V8. The exhaust gave us just enough sound through the less-restrictive mufflers, and the larger-diameter tubing increased the maximum amount of air we were able to move through the engine," says Neil Switzer, the company's primary performance consultant.
The Switzer P700 package costs only $6,995 (€5,300) which is a tad less than the $165,185 (€129,000) the MH5 will cost you, in case you decide to go for the extra 10 HP.
