SV 9 Competizione, First Real Photos

After towards the end of July we brought you the first renderings of the Italian looking Corvette, it is time to take a closer, more life-like look at the supercar. SV Motors released the first photos of the living, breathing car.

Based on the Corvette C6 drivetrain, the SV 9 received an Italian style plastic surgery to give it a more European look. The body, made of carbon fiber, helps reduce the overall weight of the supercar to under 1.4 tonnes, enough to give the 6.2l V8 quite a punch.

The body of the car was not designed only with looks in mind. The front end distributes air in a way that glues the car to the ground, an effect enhanced by the two scoops in the hood. The front grillwork was also sketched to capture maximum air for the cooling system.

The powerplant hidden under the hood has been tuned into developing 444 hp, more than plenty to achieve a 4 seconds naught to sixty acceleration (12 seconds for the quarter mile). Fuel economy stands, according to figures provided by the manufacturer, at 26 mpg highway
(9.0l/100 km).

To handle the acceleration, SV Motors fitted the SV 9 with custom-forged oversize alloy wheels, shoed in Pirelli PZero Rosso tires. Two versions of exhaust, one based on the design for the Ferrari Daytona and the other on the one for the Ferrari 599, will be provided by ANSA Automotive.

On the interior, the SV 9 continues the sporting look established outside. SV built for the supercar carbon-fiber-reinforced racing seats, with hand-stitched Italian leather, a burl-wood or carbon-fiber finished steering wheel, and a matching, custom-rendered, instrument panel and console.

Blending American muscle with Italian looks is perhaps one of the best ways to insure success for your projects. SV Motors apparently did good enough of a job to make us feel sorry they will only build 1,000 units. Priced at around $99,995, the SV 9 presents a cheaper option to n2a's Motors Anteros, with somewhat better performances.
