Suzuki and Simon Crafar to Teach On-circuit Riding Techniques

Those who have grabbed life by the handlebars from the saddle of a sportbike have always dreamed of getting acquainted with all the secrets that professional racers know. Suzuki has thus decided to support the launch of an instructional DVD and book project, due to be launched later this year.

The person in charge with the project is none other than ex-mtorcycle racer Simon Carafr, who has so far tested the entire new Suzuki GSX-R range and decided to use the bikes to demonstrate on-circuit riding techniques.

The films and photos for the project are to be taken later this year, while Crafar will continue to use his Suzuki GSX-R1000 for instructing on circuit at various events during the year.

The project aims to illustrate to track day riders 'how the fast guys go fast', by focusing on the biggest gains using the safest techniques. Keith Flint, front man of 'The Prodigy' and long time Suzuki rider will also feature. Crafar and Suzuki brag it will be both very informative and fun to watch.

“I tested all the 600 sports bikes earlier this year and the new GSX-R600 came out on top. The GSX-R750 is arguably the best trackday bike on the market for the majority of riders. The GSX-R1000 is so good out of the box that I had to change nothing but the tyres in the first on-track events for it to do all I need," the ex-500GP racer stated.

"With a very unique approach, we're proud to be part of an initiative that helps track riders become faster and safer,"
said Suzuki GB marketing manager George Cheeseman.
