Sutil Says Leaving Force India Would Be Risky

Adrian Sutil is obviously one of the Formula One drivers that doesn't have a secured job for the 2011 season, but yet he doesn't seem to bee too worried about it. In fact, the German driver is still contemplating whether to remain a Force India racer for another season, or switch to a team that can offer him a better chance at evolving as a competitor.

Constantly linked with a place at Renault, where he would partner the highly-ranked Robert Kubica, Sutil insisted that he is yet to make up his mind on his future plans in the series. With all the major players in F1 having closed their doors already for the upcoming campaign, leaving a squad that gave him a machine to score points consistently in 2009 – he had 7 point finishes so far, from which 6 were consecutive – would be risky to say the least.

I'm happy at Force India but I want to move forward. The top teams are pretty much closed, so it's hard to find a better seat than here,” said Sutil in an interview with grandprix.com, confirming his indecision for the 2010 season.

Scoring points regularly was my goal for this season and next year I want to improve again, whether it's somewhere else, or here. It's a tough decision to make right now. If you are signing up for something like three years and you're not confident the team is better, then you shouldn't do it,” added the German driver.

If he'll decide to stay at Force India – for all we know, Renault might have not even contacted the German driver – Sutil would continue for a 5th consecutive season at Silverstone. If extended, his deal will likely be signed for one season, as the German wants to keep his options open for the 2012 season.
