Subaru Liberty Exiga Wagon Launched in Australia

Subaru announced today the release of the Liberty Exiga Wagon (aka Subaru Exiga) in Australia, bringing with it a six-seater configuration and a 2.5l engine. The wagon, priced from AU$37,490, is available in dealerships starting today.

Liberty Exiga is a versatile family wagon that adds a new dimension to our mid-size wagon line-up," Nick Senior, Subaru Australia managing director said in a release.

The Exiga comes in two version for the wagon body, the 2.5i and 2.5i Premium. The first, priced as described above, comes equipped with Lineartronic CVT and DVD entertainment system, while the Premium version, starting from AU$41,990, adds leather trim, satellite navigation, reversing camera, Bluetooth compatibility, eight-way power driver and front passenger seats, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The car is powered by the 2.5l boxer engine developing 165 hp at 5,600 rpm and 229 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. From the fuel consumption standpoint, the car consumes 8.6l every 100 km (27 mpg) and emits 202 g of CO2/km.

The Exiga, a model which Subaru hopes will sell in between 50 and 75 units per month, completes the Subaru range with models for just about all types of consumers.

"It means we’ve now got Liberty Exiga for families needing the flexibility of a six-seat cabin, we’ve got five-seat normally aspirated and turbocharged Liberty wagons and for those with a more recreational focus, we’ve got the Outback range," Senior added.

With the same safety levels across all these vehicles, it simply comes down to a lifestyle choice and with the depth in our medium wagon range we can meet the needs of the vast majority of customers.
