Subaru UK announced the Levorg Sports Tourer will go on sale towards the end of September, after we had close encounters with the model at the Geneva Motor Show 2015.
You can call the Levorg a spiritual successor to the fourth-generation Subaru Legacy Tourer (built between 2003 and 2008).
As we knew by now, only one trim level will be available, namely the GT variant, but Subaru promises "generous levels of standard equipment". That also includes Subaru’s trademark Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
Last time we heard about the Levorg going on sale on UK territory, the model promised a 1.6-litre DIT Boxer engine paired with the Lineartronic CVT.
The mill is good for 170 horsepower and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of max torque, but the car's practicality also comes into focus as Subaru released more info about this aspect of the Levorg.
Clients will get a boot with 522 liters of cargo space, which can be extended to 1,446 liters by folding down the second row of seats, allowing you to fit lots of stuff in the trunk.
Also, Subaru claims the new 1.6-litre DIT power unit offers the same performance as Subaru’s existing 2.5-litre naturally aspirated Boxer engine, despite being 36 percent smaller. It also allows the Levorg to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.9 seconds, but that's not what really counts about this car.
In standard, the UK-bound Subaru Levorg comes with auto on-off LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, front and rear fog lamps, metallic paint, and 18-inch dark gray alloy wheels.
On the inside, clients will benefit from keyless access and push-button start, leather heated sports seats in the front, 60/40 split-folding and reclining rear seats and a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment and navigation system with Subaru STARLINK connectivity.
The on-the-road price for the Subaru Levorg GT is £27,495 (the equivalent of $42,840 at current exchange rates).
