If you find yourself being an egocentric adrenaline lover, go buy a motorcycle. If that scares you a bit, try out a single seater... Oh, wait... There aren’t that many and they don’t come in cheap. Well then, check out this Indiegogo project, promising an affordable version of your motorized dream.
The company is called Egoista Motors, because it’s all about its clients mentioned above, and all it wants to build for now using your donations is the EM01 Stradale - a street legal, low-slung single seater “for the masses”. The EM01 also happens to come as a hybrid or EV, because you know, polar bears and the ice cap and stuff...
If the project gets funded, you could be able to buy one for as low as €8,000 ($9,900) bearing an all-electric drivetrain, or €12,500 ($15,000) for the hybrid version, both coming as standard build-it-yourself kits.
But if you floor it, 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) should happen in about 3 seconds en route to a top speed of around 300 km/h (180 mph). Now that’s a “lot of car” for $10K. And it should also take you 450 km (280 miles) away using the hybrid powertrain or 300 km (186 miles) in all-electric form.
The EM01 will be 100 percent made in Italy and will have Ferrari and Lamborghini as neighbors for you to brag about. Check the project page here.
