Reigning Moto GP champion Casey Stoner finally triumphed in Spain at the Jerez Circuit on Sunday. After a less-than-successful qualifying run, he started 5th and rode his Repsol Honda all the way to the top, finishing less than a second ahead of home favourite Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha.
Even after securing this win on Lorenzo’s home ground, Stoner is still 4 points behind the Spaniard in the championship standings with 41 points. His Honda teammate, Dani Pedrosa, was third at Jerez and is now third in the championship, with 36 points overall.

Next Moto GP race is set for May 4th on the Estoril Circuit in Portugal and with the fight for the championship being tight so far, we can only expect it to be just as exciting as we’ve come to expect.
