STARTTEC Presents a Lock Which Opens with the Car's Key

Starttec Security Corp has launched an interesting series of locks that open with their owner’s car, SUV or truck key. The product is targeted to off-road enthusiasts, auto buffs, outdoorsmen or just people who don’t want to carry an extra key.

The BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) Series locks were presented at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, just last month. The locks were very appreciated and won two different awards. They were named one of the show's best new products by both the SEMA Global Media panel and the Light Truck Accessory Alliance.

The BOLT locks have a automotive-style cylinder which allows users to insert their car key. After they turn the key for the first time, the locks get programmed and will only open with that key. These locks also have the highest corrosion resistance rating and the producer says they are almost impossible to pick.

"Imagine the convenience of having just one key for all your locks, and it's the key you always have with you," said STRATTEC Director of New Market Development Mike Long. "We anticipate huge interest in this product among a variety of users, from auto/truck enthusiasts and outdoorsmen to contractors and fleet managers."

Starttec Security Corp is the number one automotive locks and keys manufacturer. It supplies ignition locks and keys to all major car manufacturers from the US. According to the company, the locks fit 88 percent of the light trucks and about 70 percent of the vehicles on the US roads. This means the BOLT is compatible with 111 million vehicles.
