Shelby Supercars (SSC) today announced details of its Ultimate Aero EV model, a brand new vehicle said to incorporate high engine performance with practically zero fuel consumption. The Ultima Aero EV incorporates SSC's AESP (All-Electric Scalable Powertrain) which “is unique due to its scalable horsepower, light weight, compact size, quick recharge time and liquid cooling,” as the manufacturer said in a press statement.
“While other auto manufacturers focus on producing Green technology for specific cars, SSC's focus is on producing Green technologies for a wide range of applications for an even wider range of vehicles,” SSC stated.
And to get to more technical specs, you should know that SSC's Nanotechnology Rechargeable Lithium Battery pack can be fully restored in only 10 minutes using a standard 110 outlet. The battery has an autonomy of up to 200 miles on a single charge. “This means that in a typical 8 hour day, the car using this technology could go 200 miles, charge for 10 minutes (the time it typically takes to fill up a tank of gas), then drive 200 more miles, charge for 10 minutes and continue on,” the manufacturer explained.
But more importantly, SSC stated that an AESP-equipped all-electric SUV or delivery truck may also become reality very soon as SSC may bring such vehicles in the near future. According to Shelby Supercars, the AESP allows the company to use almost the same system on various types of vehicles, partially thanks to its scalability. This means the whole assembly can be modified to produce up to 500 and even 1200 horsepower, from the initial 200 hp output on midsize cars. “The revolutionary design proves electric-powered vehicles not only match, but also provide more linear power (electric motors have 100% torque at 0 RPM) and overall performance than internal combustion vehicles,” it said.
