Our dedicated team of spy photographers have caught something you really want to see: the opening mechanism for the upcoming 4-Series or 3-Series convertible, which will use the F33 codename/designation.
Yes, BMW has decided to continue with a folding metal roof mechanism. These photos capture how the top comes up! First the boot open to allow the whole roof to come up. The back of the roof structure deploys first, and from underneath it, the forward section deploys to connect with the windscreen.
We’ve posted a video below of the current E93 3-Series Convertible, who’s roof mechanism works the same way so you understand it better.
But compared to this car, the F33 will be longer and offer better passenger space due to an extender wheelbase.
