After yesterday’s rendering, we bring you the freshest set of photos of the next BMW cabrio, sent to us from the land of the winter testing, icy Scandinavia. Even from a distance, we see this 4-Series is bigger than the current model that it will replace, but the folding metal roof design has been kept.
Right now, BMW has only developed the F30 sedan, a cabrio, coupe, GT and wagon, but rumor has it that a four-door coupe is also on the way. Body shapes might be interesting and all, but what we really want to know is what’s really powering the next M3 and the subsequent M4. It’s either a straight-six or a V6, but either way a completely new engine is going to be designed for it, one which we have not see so far.
As for the rest of the engine lineup for the 4-Series, this will be borrowed from the F30 3-Series. This means a range of four- and six-cylinder cars. The most powerful car in the standard range will of course be powered by the 3.0-liter unit, but the N54 2.0-liter is rapidly gaining favor with customers.
