BMW is determined to launch its first city-car, dubbed the i3. The extensive testing the car is being put through daily speaks volumes about the determination and ambition of the BMW engineers to create a perfect first full-electric car for the Bavarian company.
Our team of spy photographers caught up with the i3 once again this week and took the most revealing photos to date. Looking at the overall design of the car you'll notice a few new things.

First of all, the body color seems rather peculiar. It's somewhat close to the Valencia Orange but we can't be sure for now. However, that color is usually used on high-performance vehicles like the 1M Coupe which made it famous in the first place.

On the other hand, it also depends on the light source and how the picture was taken and that color might also be a new red, especially developed for the i3. We'll just have to wait and see.

This test car also has what looks like production ready tail lights. This is an interesting new feature that fascinated us from the very beginning. Seeing the sleek red LEDs at the back makes us even more curious because we can't be sure how the production version will look like yet.

The roof is completely camouflage free and gives us an idea of how the upper half the car will look like. The bottom of the front bumper is also unmasked but shows no new details.

The i3 will begin production later this year but expect the first cars to arrive in dealerships in early 2014.
