Here is a prototype of the next generation of the C-Class sedan, still in the early stages of development. The car was spotted by our dedicated team of photographers while it was undergoing winter testing in Norther Europe.
The car’s lines are not revolutionary by any means, just a steady improvement over the previous generation. It also appears to be a bit longer, just like the BMW 3-Series has grown in size with the F30 generation. It’s also supposed to be lighter than the current generation, thanks to advancements in construction and the use of aluminum.
In the drivetrain department, downsizing is the key word, as the fresh 1.8-liter turbo will be used in the base model. The V6 in the C350 will stick around, but it might be overshadowed by hybrid variants based on the current engines, but mated to a 27 horsepower electric motor.
