Every time we talk about Hyundai, we end up at the conclusion that the the Korean automaker has made huge improvements in perceived build quality, refinement and design. Their cars have also gotten larger, especially in the smaller segments. For the recently revealed i10, this strategy is was given the nickname "A to B", so maybe the i20 will be taken "from B to C".
Jokes aside, there's a very real possibility Hyundai's next generation city car will rival the best in its class with features that are usually seen in compacts. Things like front parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, keyless access and a reversion camera are all possible.
In fact, this test prototype is very clearly equipped with a reversing camera fitted with a silver surround.
As for the engines available on the car, we expect the 1.1-liter and 1.4-liter diesels from the Rio will be carried over. The petrol range could see the introduction of their very first small turbo unit, the Kappa 1.0 T-GDi with 120 hp (using turbocharger intercooler), developed for use in Kia's sub-compact cars such as Rio and Rio sedan as well as in the Carens. A performance version called the i20 N will likely also be built in order to capitalize on their rally racing.
