Hyundai is getting ready to rejoin the World Rally Championship with its very own little rally star based on the i20. The Korean automaker left the competition in 2003 and now it want a chance to show its sporty credentials off.
A rally car version of the i20 was shown at the Paris Motor Show, and now the first video of it in action has been released. The machine eats up the tarmac, gravel and even some swamp, reinventing the way in which w look at a Hyundai.

When it’s ready to race, the i20 rally car will have a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, AWD and 300 horsepower. It will be quite interesting to see it battling the Polo R.

“The World Rally Championship is recognized as one of the most dramatic sporting series on Earth”, said Hyundai Motor Europe marketing director Mark Hall. “It’s a spectacle filled with excitement and dynamism − the perfect embodiment of the Hyundai brand.”
