Ever since the X4 Sports Activity Coupe was even rumored, everyone compared it to the already released BMW F25 X3. Actually, the X4 is based on the same chassis but has an overall different shape.
Just like it happened with the BMW E70 X5 and the Coupe version, the E71 X6, we're guessing the X4 and X3 duo will follow. At the moment, it's quite unsure what the codename for the new car will be, but we're betting on the F26 nomenclature, care to join in?
On a more serious note, the upcoming SAC was spied up close recently, at the BMW HQ on the Nurburgring. The best thing about it though, was that it was right next to the X3 so that we can easily compare the two models.
As you can notice, the roof on the Coupe-styled model has a lower profile with a sloping roof line that, in the X6, caused some headaches, literally. The original Sports Activity Coupe did have some problems with the headroom in the back but, hopefully, these will be addressed in the new car.
Other changes will most likely be noticed around the bumpers (this model is an M Sport one, just like the one we found yesterday), at the front end and at the back, especially at the tailgate.
On the inside, the dash will be similar, featuring a display with a 'sunk-in' design that will, most likely, stir up some controversy. Up until the official unveiling takes place, we'll just have to make suppositions.
