Spyshots: 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. Diesel S Coming?

2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
The second generation is already out and about, selling like hot cakes in places like China. Porsche is barely keeping up with demand, as waiting lists are reportedly half a year long in some markets. Needless to say that means they are making a lot of money on the luxury SUV, but some versions are still missing from the range.
One of these is the Cayenne Turbo S, coming as an even more sporty version of the existing Turbo version and its 500 horsepower. The ‘S’ will come to the market early next year, packing some 550 horsepower from the same 4.8-liter V8. This is the same power difference as between the same two versions of the Panamera.

The 2012 Panamera Turbo S should debut at Geneva next year, but our spy shots also show a black Cayenne that is a little harder to figure out. A GTS version should be coming, but the exhaust and general look is wrong for that. There’s a rumor going round that Porsche will slap a 300 hp or so version of the 3.0L diesel in the Cayenne to create a Diesel S.

The engine is supposed to be developed by Audi and should push the Cayenne to 100 km/h in about 7.5 seconds. This would be the perfect choice for people wanting a faster diesel Cayenne. This is only a shot in the dark right now, but the suspension of the prototype does appear to be lower.
