Spyshots: 2011 Porsche Boxster

With the 2010 Geneva Auto Show just around the corner, all eyes are looking towards what Porsche will bring to the event's floor, especially after the unveiling of the 911 GT3 R and the upcoming release of the new generation Cayenne.

Still, there are some out there who left all the glamor of the Geneva event aside and replaced it with the cold temperatures of the Arctic Sweden, to catch a glimpse of how the next Boxster will look like.

Still at least one year away from its release, the Boxster, intended to replace the recently facelifted version, comes packing what appears to be only minor changes, like the bulgier, longer front end.

Looked at from the side, changes are virtually absent, except for the different rear view mirrors. It has the same sills, vents, spoiler and even third brake light. Where are the real changes then, one might wonder?

Well, rumor goes, in lack of any hard evidence, the new Boxster will feature extensive, if not severe changes to its mechanics and even weight.

Apparently, Porsche went for an inner change, instead of giving the car a new look, as well as for a more Speedster-like approach in terms of weight.

Even if the visual changes to the new Boxster are not all that apparent, it is likely a revised front and rear will make their way onto the test cars in the coming months, as well as a new rear light cluster, because, as we all know, looks matters.
