Spyker to Deliver C8 Aileron from April

The change of owner for Dutch super car manufacturer couldn't have come at a better time, now that the producer is getting ready to show its might at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. In the past year, with Victor Muller caught with trying to revive his newest acquisition, Saab, Spyker has slipped into a cone of shadow. Not anymore, promises the new owner, Vladimir Antonov (CPP Group), who says the company is getting ready to step up the pace and start delivering the latest product, the C8 Aileron, starting this April. The model will be produced at the CPP Coventry assembly facility, with the existing models, the C8 Spyder and C8 Laviolette to continue at Spyker’s facility in The Netherlands. Spyker is not saying how many clients have ordered the model, limiting itself at stating that the order book extends into early 2012. Orders, says the company, comes from all over, with the majority of the cars to be delivered to all continents. "Having created an enviable portfolio of premium, world-class automotive companies and brands over the past two years, we are convinced that Spyker will flourish within the CPP Group,” said Antonov. “We are delighted to be bringing more investment and job opportunities to Coventry, and we hope that this further cements its reputation as the heartland of the automotive industry in the UK.” autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
